Recent leaks from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28 have surfaced, and based on the available sneak preview, one thing becomes immediately clear — the new chapter wastes no time picking up the chaos left behind in the previous installment.
The preview shows that Mamushi was originally expected to invade Konoha later, yet his assault begins far earlier than anyone predicted. The leaks also suggest a shift toward a much darker storyline, signaling that the fate of Konoha is already beginning to fall apart.
In the leaked panels, Boruto is shown springing into action without hesitation. The fandom often jokes about him constantly flying around, but beneath the humor is an undeniable sense of urgency. Boruto appears completely focused and armed, heading straight toward danger with no intention of retreat.

Meanwhile, Shikamaru issues the first serious warning of the chapter, stating:
“Damn it… this is several days earlier than expected.”
This single line instantly reintroduces tension to the arc. Since these translations are not official, they should be treated only as early impressions — but they imply something huge: Mamushi’s attack, forecasted to take place in roughly a week, has arrived several days ahead of schedule. Kashin Koji responds in his usual calm, unsettling manner:
“That’s just how it is. Fate has already begun to change.”
These words carry massive weight. The future that Koji once foresaw is now diverging. With more people becoming aware of fragments of the future — Boruto, Kawaki, Shikamaru, Inojin, and even Eida — Koji’s ability may be weakening, resulting in new singularities that distort events. And nothing disrupts destiny faster than fear and preparation.
Another panel shifts to Kawaki, who growls, “Just you wait.” The implication is unmistakable: Mamushi is already inside Konoha, and the battle has started far sooner than anyone was prepared for.

The most interesting detail from Chapter 28’s preview is Boruto’s sword. Fans immediately pointed out that the blade he’s carrying might be the upgraded weapon he commissioned from Sumeri. According to the story’s timeline, the rebuild should have taken at least a full week.
If only two days have passed — as several translations indicate — then the existence of this sword is another sign that the timeline is deviating. Either Sumeri completed the upgrade impossibly fast, or Boruto is wielding a temporary substitute rather than the upgraded weapon. Considering their previous conversation, the second theory appears far more believable. Boruto never demanded speed — he accepted the one-week estimate without argument.

Many fans also believe that rushing Sumeri’s work would contradict previously established plot direction. Therefore, the most likely explanation is that Boruto is using a temporary blade — perhaps a leftover Ōtsutsuki or Kara weapon, or one of the spare experimental swords left in their hideout.
