We change to Hino country, where Heath (Paladin, but controlled by Lucius) is strangling Ryuuya, asking him why he went to such lengths to side with Asta.

Now that I’ve used the ultimate-level magic…” “…I can move the body of the Paladin I created, even from a distance.”

Ryuuya: A being with no magic, whose future cannot be seen… honestly, like an eyesore.
Flashback time, Ryuuya reflects on the price he paid for gaining his Eye, losing all of his own magic power in the process.
Though he had no regrets, he struggled with the pain of giving up his dreams and his promise to Yosuga.
In his search for meaning (and Yami), he eventually discovers Asta, a boy without magic, much like himself, who never gave up despite the overwhelming odds.
He decides to watch over Asta, who kept growing stronger, protecting others.
As he watched through Asta beginning with his childhood, he also found Yami eventually.
Through Asta’s courage and determination, Ryuuya finds renewed strength and purpose.
Lucius (Heath) is still holding Ryuuya by the neck and says: Unfortunately, the new world does not need a shogun, and is about to off him, but Yosuga saves him.
